The Focus Sam2 6.9 is a top-tier model in the new Sam2 enduro / downhill eMTB range. Focus has upgraded the bike with the Bosch Smart System drive system and a 750Wh battery. The bike is designed for downhill riding and features a new frame and suspension setup with a fully active 4-bar linkage. It retains the same downhill DNA of the previous model, with a sturdy frame, slack head angle, and 180/170mm travel.

The Sam2 6.9 is equipped with a FOX 38 Float Factory fork (180mm travel), Fox DH Performance coil shock (170mm travel), Shimano Deore XT 12-speed gears, Magura MT5 brakes, and DT Swiss wheelset. For more aggressive trails, the head angle can be adjusted from 64.5 to 63.5 using the rotatable headset cups, making it one of the most raked out eMTB options for 2023.

The bike comes with a Bosch 750Wh power tube battery, offering an extended riding range. Riders can use the Bosch eBike flow app to customize rider modes, track fitness and performance data, and access security features. Additionally, the optional Bosch eBike Alarm and Connect Module provides an integrated 100dB alarm and GPS tracking.

To accommodate the larger battery and new Bosch Smart System CX motor, the bike features a ground-up frame re-design. The motor has been rotated to allow the battery to sit low in the downtube, keeping the weight low in the bike. The battery is removable, with the opening for removal located at the bottom of the downtube and protected by a sturdy skid plate. This design maintains frame stiffness and reduces weight compared to the previous version.
